A central role close to the business 
As our new colleague, you will participate in key projects that support our business needs. You will join our Supply Chain Management and Logistics department consisting of 70 colleagues across countries. The position can be located either in the Copenhagen office or at our Headquarters in Braunschweig, Germany.


Specifically, you will: 

•    Be responsible for purchasing containers for sea freight and developing our supply chains in that field
•    Be in charge of our sugar transportation and warehousing services category management on group level
•    Define our strategic road map for the category and establish relevant group standards (incl. contracts and guidelines) and KPIs
•    Identify areas with saving potential through collaboration with local contractors, our factories and digitization projects contributing to Nordzucker’s 'Performance Improvement Programme’ (PIP)
•    Act as a supply chain coordinator for selected global customer key accounts 
•    Improve the current supplier evaluation scheme and sustainably implement in the group


You can expect to travel around 20 days a year to visit our other locations across Europe.

Experienced Category Manager full of ambitions  
•    We are open to different backgrounds, but imagine that you are educated to degree level in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or Logistics and have 5 years’ experience from a similar role within Supply Chain Management 
•    You should have experience with land based freight forwarding (Food Silo, Palletized, Intermodal) & Ocean Freight, ideally from a procurement background you profound understanding about freight market developments, trends and              regulatory developments across EU 
•    You have solid negotiation skills and a proven track record in cost reduction in transportation and warehousing
•    Experience with tender management, reverse auctions, eProcurement tools is a clear plus


You both speak and write English fluently and should be an excel power user
