Automation Engineer: Shape Future Sugar Factory (Hybrid)

Our Danish Digitalisation & Technology Services (DTS) is located in Nakskov. DTS has a significant role as a central department in the Nordzucker Group with offices in Braunschweig, Örtöfta and Nakskov. Nordzucker has sugar production at 13 factories in 7 countries in Europe, as well as 3 factories in Australia. In Denmark, we have factories in Nykøbing F. and Nakskov with head office of Nordic Sugar at Ørestaden in Copenhagen.

”You will play an integral role in the “Fully Automated Sugar Factory” project, which will be among the most advanced of its kind in the world. It requires thorough training, which we provide, and you will come to use all your skills” tells Head of Advanced Process Control Mahesh Kumar Murugaiah.


What you will do
•    Collaborate with specialists from automation, process, and energy departments to develop, implement, and maintain advanced process control solutions
•    Define automation standards for the Nordzucker group
•    Data driven approach to optimize the process through automation


Who you are
•    Some years of experience with automation and process control – we also welcome applications from recent graduates with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering
•    Programming in DCS systems like: Foxboro EVO or Siemens PCS7 – knowledge of PLC programming will also do
•    Advantage if you can program in C# and/or Python
•    Interest in AI and Machine Learning
•    Ability to work independently and as a team player as situation demands
•    Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Work proficiency in Danish and/or German is an advantage

Your workplace will be at our department in Nakskov, alternatively at our head office in Copenhagen or at Nykøbing F or at Örtofta, Sweden. However, you must be ready to travel to Nakskov regularly at the start of the job – especially during your training. It is possible to work from home 1-2 days. Furthermore, you will when conditions allow participate in projects in other countries, which can involve few travel days.
